This year Dave and Finn who are represented by the Ellis Digital talent management division appeared on Britains Got Talent.
Their incredible but tragic story gripped the nation along with Finns impressive mind reading skills. The support of the public and their votes propelled them into the final of the 2019 series.
During the show Simon Cowell took time out to spend time with Dave and Finn, learn what service animals do on a daily basis and he was shocked to learn that there was no law protecting our four legged friends.
The exposure that Simon gave to Finns Law via his television show helped to encourage the passing of the law through the House of Commons and Lords. The bill was signed off by the Queen during the biggest TV show in the UK, Britain’s Got Talent.
After the show, Simon asked more about German Shepherd Rescue Elite which Finn proudly serves as Patron. He was shocked to learn that they are a small charity struggling to make ends meet but he was delighted to hear the amazing work these volunteers undertake and wanted to help.
In the last 24 hours Simon has made a substantial donation to the charity which has completely shocked everyone who volunteers their time at German Shepherd Rescue Elite, not only is this extremely generous, he will help to save the lives of so many German Shepherds across the country.
This donation will enable them to carry out life saving operations, take on more dogs in need of help and ensure that they find their dogs loving forever homes.
Alison Clarke, Co-Founder from GSRE says
“We are literally blown away by this surprise donation from Simon Cowell, we cannot tell you what it means to us and the dogs. It is really going to change the lives of so many German Shepherds within our care and they will be forever grateful to him.
“We would like to thank Dave Wardell and our Patron Finn along with their management team at Ellis Digital, with out them they wouldn’t have got the opportunity to appear on Britains Got Talent which enabled this donation from Simon Cowell.”
“We’ve just told some of the dogs in the kennels and they have sent tail wags and barks to Simon for bringing them one step closer to their forever homes”
Dave Wardell and Finn have commented
“We are delighted to have helped highlight this amazing charities work. We hope this donation will help to continue GSRE’s amazing work and we will continue to do all we can for this amazing cause for this wonderful breed of dog, after all, I owe my life to one.”
