The Brand.

Thorns Group are an exhibition and events furniture and catering hire business based in Northamptonshire. With a stock of over 2 million items and 130,000+ sq ft of warehouse space, their award-winning team always goes above and beyond to deliver the best service to their nationwide client base. They also offer soundproof meeting pods and sound reduced rooms as well as furniture hire services across Sheffield and Leeds.

The Objective.

For such a large brand with so many applications for their services and an expansive customer base, a strong and effective brand identity is vital. Thorns came to us having not updated their logo for 8 years, it was outdated, ineffective and impractical. The brief was to create a modern, slick and minimalistic logo that can work across their multiple websites and appeal to their exhibition and events target market alike. 

The Action.

In response, we created a brand mark that revolved around stunning, minimalistic typography. By manipulating the R letter form to create chair imagery, we managed to convey their sector without straying from an on-trend logotype outcome. This allows for a bold icon for use on touch points such as furniture, favicons etc. as well as a full mark that includes the recognisable icon for use on the website, vehicles, print etc. Overall the design is a harmonious and adaptable brand mark that is on-trend but retains a level of individualism for optimised brand awareness.

The Result.

The response from the client and their customers alike was overwhelmingly positive. The clean and contemporary style that we used aided in positively revolutionising the identity of Thorns across a multitude of different mediums and platforms.

The Objective.

After successfully creating a new and unique brand refresh for Thorns Group, we were also tasked with developing a new website for them. The goal for us was to make it easy for the user to explore their full range of furniture and improve the overall user experience.

The Action.

We sat down with Thorns Group to set out a plan and explore the visions they had in mind. We wanted the new design to focus on having clear navigation as well as a sleek and modern design. We therefore focused on using a monochrome colour palette – further complementing their new branding, as well as high-quality images of the furniture to hire. This made a real difference to the overall clean and fresh feel of the website. A unique feature added allowed the website to be split into two different sides of the business, this is something that we hadn’t done before but really made a different to the fluidity of the design.

The Result.

The newly designed website successfully helped to transform the overall user experience for Thorns Group, making the website more engaging for visitors. We were able to simplify the booking process so that the whole process was easier for clients to browse the furniture they needed. Overall, the new website really helped to strengthen the brand’s presence online and build a better connection with their clients.

The Objective.

The client wanted to increase their organic traffic and visibility in the furniture hire market for both exhibitions and events. This required a 10 key term strategy which covered both sides of the business, ensuring maximum exposure to the market. The main obstacle was that the market is highly competitive and we needed to plan a strong strategy which permeated Thorns to the top of the results amongst their competitors. This meant constructing cutting edge optimisations alongside a strong web content plan which would uplift the clients relevancy in the search engines.

The Action.

We agreed a set of terms which varied in volume to accommodate to quick wins, medium and longer term wins to ensure results across the timeline. Another thing we implemented were blog posts each month to raise organic traffic for informational search intent terms. Lastly, on top of our ongoing SEO strategy, we developed landing pages relevant to the related terms to increase the page values for the terms throughout the site.

The Result.

Our work on the clients site to optimise visibility has boosted revenue sales for the year by 20% in comparison the previous period. The web content and on-page improvements made have also increased customer engagement rate, indicating that the strategy we put in place nurtured client search intent.
